Food is Medicine

When: November 17, 2016 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Hosted by the National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging

For years, Harvard Law School’s Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation (CHLPI) has worked with food and nutrition service providers to make the case that food is medicine and should be an important part of our nation’s healthcare. Join us for this free NRCNA webinar on Thursday, November 17 at 3:30 p.m. EDT to hear from Jean Terranova of Community Servings and Katie Garfield of CHLPI on how to work with healthcare payers, providers and policy leaders to establish reimbursement for medically-tailored food in public and private insurance programs.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • Learn about the history of Community Servings and similarly aligned agencies in the national Food is Medicine Coalition;
  • Discuss research that demonstrates the impact of food and nutrition services on healthcare;
  • Explore opportunities for reimbursement of food and nutrition services through public and private healthcare systems; and
  • Learn how to leverage relationships with healthcare payers, providers and policy leaders to explore integrating their services into the healthcare sector
