Using Motivational Interviewing to Improve Health Outcomes Among Older Adults

Attend this webinar to learn how motivational interviewing can be implemented to empower older adults to move towards adopting healthy behaviors. Motivational interviewing is a person-centered style of interaction that helps promote behavior change by helping individuals to explore and resolve ambivalence. Speakers will share how this method is used in the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) program for substance use as well as a tool to activate potential participants for evidence-based programs, including Chronic Disease Self-Management Education.
