The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) released a new field report on the status of Hispanic older adults in the United States. The report contains a literature review of the current data on the status of this population, feedback from targeted community forums, and results from a national survey conducted by NHCOA. The survey focused on “key issues impacting individuals and their communities; their civic engagement on these issues; and the role of community members in the development and implementation of public policies, programs and services that fit the needs of the diverse older adult population locally and nationwide.” NHCOA also offers several national recommendations based on the findings of the report.
