Senior nutrition program providers have admirably risen to meet the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 public health emergency. Critical to these efforts has been the ability to leverage existing relationships with key stakeholders (i.e., restaurants, food system partners, technology providers). New and/or non-traditional partnerships (i.e., emergency service providers and the airline industry) have been established as well to ensure that the older adults they serve are able to access needed food, nutrition, socialization and wellness programming.
This Virtual Training Series celebrates the spirit of innovation and resiliency as COVID-19 response and recovery efforts continue. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from thought-leaders and peer program leaders about inventive partnerships, challenges overcome and vital lessons learned – applicable in the age of COVID-19.
Participants learned to:
- Recognize innovative opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders to meet the nutrition needs of older adults.
- Anticipate partnership pitfalls to avoid when engaging new or non-traditional stakeholders; and
- Implement practice-informed techniques to engage partners to meet and address emerging programmatic needs.
