Nutrition Requirements of the Older Americans Act (OAA)

This tipsheet provides an overview of the basic / nutritional requirements of the Older Americans Act, including concise introductions of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the Dietary Reference Intakes and how they differ. This resource addresses key questions such as use of the Nutrition Facts label and how to engage with restaurants to provide meals to seniors. An example of a common eating pattern is also included for reference purposes.
