It is expected that by 2030, nearly 21% of the U.S. population will consist of adults aged 65 years and older. Adequate nutrition is essential to health, longevity and quality of life, especially for seniors. Congregate and home-delivered meal programs are ideal settings to provide nutrition education for older adults seeking to maintain health and wellness that can support their ability to age successfully. This National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging (NRCNA) two-part webinar showcased findings from a multi-state survey of nutrition educators working with congregate and home-delivered meal programs on the type of frequency of education provided. Presenter Christina Riccardo, EdD, RD, Department of Health and Exercise Science, Rowan University discussed how you can provide effective and efficient nutrition education across senior nutrition programs, as well as actionable tips and tricks for evaluating your efforts.
