In celebration of the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program which began on March 22,1972, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) will be holding a weekly series of webinars throughout the month of March. Part 1 will be hosted by the National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging (NRCNA) and will focus on the Congregate Nutrition Program’s role in decreasing social isolation among older adults. Attendees will hear testimonials from participants benefiting from the Carter Burden Center in New York City, learn about a recent national study, “Beyond the Meal: The Value of Socialization in Older Americans Act Congregate Nutrition Programs,” and discuss current challenges and future opportunities for a vibrant congregate program as identified at the Future of Congregate Convening from March 2019.
