Even before COVID-19 struck, a growing number of Americans were already challenged with family caregiving responsibilities, their own deteriorating health, and difficulties balancing work and family caregiving responsibilities. With an estimated 53 million caregivers in the United States, according to the recent Caregiving in the US report from AARP and National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC), this crisis is affecting one out of every six Americans directly as well as the family members and loved ones they care for.
