Healthy Brain Initiative Road Map: State and Local Public Health Partnerships to Address Dementia

If you require ADA accommodation to participate in this web seminar, please contact Steve Moore at your earliest convenience to make arrangements – [email protected]

The 2018–2023 Road Map is informed by four Essential Services of Public Health—assure a competent workforce; monitor and evaluate; develop policies and mobilize partnerships; and educate and empower the nation. Action in each of these four domains is guided by three core principles to best ensure health equity, collaboration across multiple sectors and the need to leverage resources for sustained impact. The CDC’s Lisa McGuire will describe this newly released Road Map. Susan Engels from the Washington Department of Social and Health Services will describe how the Washington State designed and is implementing a successful program aligned with CDC’s Healthy Brain Initiative.

Participants in this web seminar will be able to:

  • Describe the role of public health in promoting brain health;
  • List the constituent groups targeted in CDC’s Healthy Brain Initiative;
  • Prioritize the 25 action agenda items of the Healthy Brain Initiative Road Map for implementation; and,
  • Describe how Washington State has implemented activities aligned with the Healthy Brain Initiative.
