Senior nutrition programs are increasingly charged with meeting the needs of diverse communities. According to federal data, racial and ethnic minority populations served by the Aging Network have increased from 7.5 million (19% of the older adult population) in 2008 to 12.3 million in 2019 (23% of older adults). Increasingly, senior nutrition program professionals need to have the training and resources required to support the provision of culturally inclusive and welcoming services. Recent findings from a national training needs assessment survey revealed a keen interest among senior nutrition program providers on this topic.
