Training Series in Disability-Competent Care and Supports

Eight webinars will be presented live on a weekly basis (every Tuesday) with a two-week break from March 4th to March 11th. Descriptions of the first four webinars are at the bottom of this announcement.

The CMS Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office is facilitating an optional webinar series for interested providers and health care professionals, front-line staff with health plans and practices, and stakeholders to support providers in their many uses of the Disability-Competent Care (DCC) Model. The DCC model is a resource for providers, health plans, and healthcare organizations to enhance the capacity to integrate care for adults with disabilities. Webinars will be tailored by audience and topic within this subject area.

This webinar series will be practically focused and participatory in nature. The topics identified arose from the introduction of the Self-Assessment Tool and the comments provided during our initial 9-part webinar series that was presented last fall. Each webinar will include 2-4 topic experts who will lead a 15-20 minute discussion to introduce the specific topic. Following this, there will be 30-40 minutes reserved for Q&A, practical discussion and dialogue between participants and experts. Recordings and presentation materials will be made publicly available on our website following each webinar.
