Ways to Help Older Adults Struggling with Hunger During COVID-19

Join the Food Research & Action Center, Feeding America, and Meals on Wheels America to learn about strategies for helping older adults struggling with food insecurity and hunger during the COVID-19 public health emergency and beyond. This webinar will help stakeholders concerned with these issues take action to improve the health of older adults by connecting them to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), emergency food, congregate nutrition and home-delivered meals programs, and other nutrition programs.

The COVID-19 emergency has led to increased food insecurity and has complicated how older adults access food. Older adults are at a disproportionate risk of contracting and experiencing severe illness from COVID-19. This is particularly true for older adults who experience racial inequalities and have underlying medical conditions. Learn how these programs are adapting to better serve older adults during COVID-19 and what actions are needed moving forward.
